Description
Handmade using white or terracotta earthenware clay, decorated with coloured engobe slips and oxides and finished using a glossy glaze. For purely decorative pieces areas may be left unglazed and finished with a wax. I work in small batches mixing the colours as I go, therefore sets may vary slightly.
I rolled out a slab of clay, cut out the body and base using a card template and made the form. To decorate i used hot pinks,red and an orange wash. I gave it a loose painterly feel.
My inspiration came from hot climes and pomegranate trees.
