Autumnal Leaves Lamp Base

Description

Handmade using white or terracotta earthenware clay, decorated with coloured engobe slips and oxides and finished using a glossy glaze. For purely decorative pieces areas may be left unglazed and finished with a wax. I work in small batches mixing the colours as I go, therefore sets may vary slightly.

To make this lamp base I used plaster press moulds and coils. To decorate I used several layers of coloured slips applied in various ways and masked off areas using paper to build up pattern and texture.

This one off unique lamp base will brighten up your home whether it’s switched on or off.
